May 2021 be a better year for those of us who wish to see humankind progress in many peaceful, intelligent, creative and joyful ways. I’m not as fussed about how the year treats those who wish harm upon others or through neglect or a need for attention, cause harm to befall others.

I hope that for the rest of you a festive period that is safe, healthy, virus-free and good to you and your loved ones, your friends and your pets.

In 2021 there will be all manner of COVID-19 discoveries to watch unfold, but principal among them will be the rollout of vaccines to prevent COVID-19 disease and death due to SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that drove a year of pandemic heartbreak.
